Along the Ridge

Along the Ridge (Italian: Anche libero va bene) is a 2006 Italian film directed by Kim Rossi Stuart, who also wrote the screenplay in collaboration with Linda Ferri and Francesco Giammusso.

Alessandro Morace, who played the problematic boy around which the plot revolves, received a Best Actor award at the 2006 Flaiano Film Festival for the role of Tommaso (Tommi) Benetti in 2006.

Synopsis

Tommi aged 11 and his slightly older sister Viola live in the city with their father. They cope with being a single parent family until their mother shows up, having disappeared without trace for many times. The film shows their ongoing struggle with love, friendship, puberty and life in general.

Libero (known also as Libero Quotidiano) is an Italian newspaper published in Milan, Italy.

History and profile

Libero was first published in July 2000. The founder is the journalist Vittorio Feltri. The owner and publisher of the paper is Editoriale Libero S.r.l.

Libero has a center right-wing and liberal stance.

In February 2007 some members of the Red Brigade were arrested on a charge of wanting to fire-bomb the Libero editorial offices in Milan. The paper has been edited by Maurizio Belpietro since August 2009.

Circulation

Libero has higher circulation in Lombardy. The 2008 circulation of the paper was 125,215 copies. The paper had a circulation of 113,628 copies in 2009 and 105,123 copies in 2010.

Casper (rapper)

Benjamin Griffey (born 25 September 1982), better known by his stage name Casper, is a German rapper signed to the German music label Four Music.

Biography

Casper was born in Extertal in North Rhine-Westphalia to a German mother and an American father, Arlen Griffey, who was a soldier stationed in Extertal. His family moved to Augusta, Georgia, in the United States, when he was two weeks old, where he lived in a trailerpark. At the age of 11, he moved back to Germany with his mother and younger sister. Despite his mother being German, he had not been raised bilingually and therefore struggled at school initially.

Career

Casper was involved in many studio recordings with other German rappers, such as Abroo and Separate. Together they founded the hip-hop group Kinder des Zorns. In 2004 they released Rap Art War, their first and only album.

In 2006 he released a mixtape called Die Welt Hört Mich with the label 667 - One More Than The Devil. In the two years following the release of Die Welt Hört Mich, he toured through Germany and on 9 May 2008 he released his first album, Hin Zur Sonne with the 667 record label.

The Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper

The Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper is an animated television spin-off of the feature film Casper, which, in turn, was based on the Harvey Comics character of Casper the Friendly Ghost.

Production

This series was proposed be a live-action sequel, at the time that principal filming wrapped on Casper, and a treatment was written, but a combination of less-than-stellar box office gross (although the film grossed $100 million in the US, the budget was more than half of that total and analysts predicted much higher earnings for the film) and the fact that both Christina Ricci and Bill Pullman were attached to other projects after Casper and would not be available until more than a year later caused the idea to be scrapped. The producers then decided to abandon the live-action sequel ideas and instead developed this cartoon series to continue the story.

The show aired on FOX Kids television from 1996-1998 for 3 seasons. 52 episodes were produced, but only the first 46 appeared on FOX, with the remaining debuting on FOX Family Channel. Many of the same people who worked on this show also worked on Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain (the latter of which was a spin-off from the former; coincidentally, the former had also debuted on FOX).

Casper (Maya ruler)

"Casper", also known as 11 Rabbit, (August 8, 422 – 487?), was an ajaw of the Maya city of Palenque from August 9, 435 to 487. He was the immediate successor of K'uk' Bahlam I, who founded the ruling dynasty.

Casper came to power in August 435 at the age of 13 and ruled the city for 52 years. Only Pacal the Great is recorded to have ruled Palenque longer.

PostScript Printer Description

PostScript Printer Description (PPD) files are created by vendors to describe the entire set of features and capabilities available for their PostScript printers.

A PPD also contains the PostScript code (commands) used to invoke features for the print job. As such, PPDs function as drivers for all PostScript printers, by providing a unified interface for the printer's capabilities and features. For example, a generic PPD file for all models of HP Color LaserJet contains:

which specifies that the printer understands PostScript Level 2, is a color device, and so forth. The PPD can describe allowable paper sizes, memory configurations, the minimum font set for the printer, and even specify a tree-based user interface for printer-specific configuration.

CUPS

CUPS uses PPD drivers for all of its PostScript printers, and has even extended the concept to allow for PostScript printing to non-PostScript printing devices, by directing output through a CUPS filter. Such a file is no longer a standard PPD, but rather a "CUPS-PPD". CUPS clients usually read the current PPD file from the server every time a new print job is created.
